
Welcome. Thank you for your interest in the Department of Health, Nutrition and Exercise Sciences (HNES). HNES offers six undergraduate majors, four minors, and four certifications along with a Master of Science degree with seven options. Each semester we schedule over 100 undergraduate and graduates sections of courses. Five of our undergraduate program have received accreditation through various national accrediting agencies. Our one program that is not currently accredited will be seeking accreditation within two years. HNES offers six different general education wellness courses through on site and distance learning.
HNES has 18 faculty, 10 part time lecturers, 25 graduate assistants, and four academic
assistants. Many faculty members are award-winning teachers and researchers and have received
numerous service awards. Faculty take great pride in their teaching and consistently receive some
of the highest teaching evaluation on campus. Faculty also take their advising commitments very
seriously and work closely with both undergraduate and graduate students.
HNES has approximately 500 students, 80 of whom are graduate students. The department graduate program in the 4th largest on campus. Job placement for graduates is typically a 95-100% placement rate.
