Program Requirements:

Admission requirements are as follows:

  1. Undergraduate degree with a physical education, sport management, recreation management, business, or communication major or minor; or coaching minor/certificate.
  2. Cumulative baccalaureate GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.

Graduate candidate must complete 31 credit hours, and can choose either Plan A or Plan B. If the student chooses Plan A, it requires students to complete 31 credit hours that include a six-credit research thesis. Plan B requires students to complete 31 credit hours that include a three-credit master's paper or practicum. It is recommended that students interested in conducting research or desiring to continue into a Ph.D. program select the thesis option. Students may complete up to three credits of HNES 793 IS/Sport Pedagogy and Leadership.
