General Education Wellness

NDSU requires that all students complete a Wellness course as part of general education.  HNES offers the following listed courses each semester via on site and distance learning.  The distance learning courses are taught through Blackboard.  Students must pay an additional course fee for the distance learning courses.

HNES 100   Concepts of Fitness and Wellness (2 credits) This course includes both classroom and physical activity components.
HNES 217   Personal and Community Health (3 credits)
HNES 111   Wellness (3 credits)
HNES 250   Nutrition Science (3 credits)
HNES 270   Consumer Issues in Food and Nutrition (3 credits)
HNES 200   Principles of Nutrition (3 credits)

Activity Courses

HNES offers a number of activity courses designed to enrich one's learning opportunities while engaged in physical activity.  A few of the course are taught at various sites off campus while others are taught at sites across campus.  Some courses require an additional fee.  Most of these courses are offered by HNES through the Division of Distance and Continuing Education.  Below is the list of courses.
